So for the first day of activities in the new semester we went with our Geology professor up to the nearby mountain and went snow shoeing. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go at first because it was going to be so cold, but I thought that would be a lame excuse to miss out on all the beautiful scenery and the experience of snow shoeing. So I layered up in long underwear, three long sleeves, a north face puffy jacket, jeans, and old tennis shoes with wool socks. Let me just tell you now, I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO COLD IN MY LIFE! Once we got our snow shoes strapped on and headed out into the snow I immediately wanted to turn around, but I stuck it through and was so glad I did because it was such a cool/experience. We hiked in the snow for about 2 or 3 hours then stopped for hot chocolate before heading back to the house. The forest was so beautiful covered in white!
Looks like your having a great time. While your in the snow we were on a nice cruise to the Caribbean enjoying the sun, and snokling, scuba diving, and playing with the sting rays. I love the snow too, only for a short while. I will always love California weather no matter what. Check my pics in my blog when your not playing so much. octupusgrandma.blogspot.com
