Snow Shoeing

Snow Play!

Can you tell how cold it was?!

Our very attractive snow shoes!

So for the first day of activities in the new semester we went with our Geology professor up to the nearby mountain and went snow shoeing. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go at first because it was going to be so cold, but I thought that would be a lame excuse to miss out on all the beautiful scenery and the experience of snow shoeing. So I layered up in long underwear, three long sleeves, a north face puffy jacket, jeans, and old tennis shoes with wool socks. Let me just tell you now, I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO COLD IN MY LIFE! Once we got our snow shoes strapped on and headed out into the snow I immediately wanted to turn around, but I stuck it through and was so glad I did because it was such a cool/experience. We hiked in the snow for about 2 or 3 hours then stopped for hot chocolate before heading back to the house. The forest was so beautiful covered in white!

It's Snowing!!

Day-time
Night-time

I have officially arrived back in Switzerland after an amazing month at home with the family and friends. It is covered in snow and absolutely gorgeous white! Today we are going snow-shoeing somewhere up in a mountain (I'll get the details later), which should be interesting. I have never done something like this before so we will see how everything pans out. Snow is falling as we speak so I should be getting some great pictures soon, but here are a few just for now.
